From the Kaiserstuhl train station, the trail takes you along the lake to the Bürglen Chapel. There, follow trail marker No. 575 (Butterfly Trail) up to the Emmetti Alp. Continuing to follow the signs, you’ll reach the Gerischwendi Alp. The trail takes you via Äschligrad to the Feldmoosalp. Marvel at the turquoise-colored Lungerersee, which lies at your feet, and enjoy the stunning view over the Sarneraatal valley and into the Bernese Alps. Continuing uphill, you’ll reach the southern viewpoint on the Sädel (1,672 m). Continuing along the ridge, you’ll reach Rückenegg, from where you can already see your final destination, the Bärghuis, to the south. With the final ascent over the Mändli to the Biet (2,107 m), you’ll reach the highest point of your hike. The gentle descent that follows takes you to Schönbüel, where you can relax at the Bärghuis for a well-deserved rest. A one-hour descent via Alp Breitenfeld brings you to the Turrenbahn mountain station, which takes you comfortably back to Lungern.
