Long Route
From the Turren mountain station, follow the marked snowshoe trail as it climbs gently toward Schönbüel via the Sattelmatt. At the Chuematt junction, turn left and follow the markers uphill to the Üssere Alp. To the south lies the next point, the Tüfengrat, where you can enjoy a wonderful view of Lake Brienz. Head back a short distance, then take a wide arc northward around the Üsseri Alp, following the markers at the same elevation to the next signpost. The final ascent is steeper and zigzags up to the Bärghuis Schönbüel. The descent leads via Breitenfeld and Luegi back to Turren.

At the Üssere Alp, you can walk directly to Schönbüel from behind the hut; this trail is also marked.
Short Alternative
At the Chuematt turnoff, follow the winter hiking trail to Breitenfeld, and from there, head uphill along the snow trail directly to Schönbüel.
